SPINACH DIP


1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 pkg. Knorr's vegetable soup mix
1 pkg. frozen spinach (finely chopped)
1 can water chestnuts (finely chopped), optional
2-3 green onions (finely chopped)
1 pumpernickel bread or crackers of choice

Mix first 6 ingredients well.
Put a hole in the middle of the pumpernickel loaf.
Add in mixture and use pieces from center torn in smaller pieces to dip.
Or just put dip in bowl and serve with crackers. Chill till served.

***NOTE: you can add ½ pound chopped cooked bacon, thinly chopped to dip (optional but it makes it really yummy)
